Author of The Gnostic Gospels, The Origin of Satan and most recently, Beyond Belief: The Hidden Gospel of Thomas (Harper/Collins). Pagels looks at Christianity and its antisemitism as both historian and detective. Although well established as Professor of Religion at Princeton University, she knows herself to be the eternal outsider because she is a woman. It is from this perspective that she offers fresh, surprising interpretations of the roots of Christianity.
